The jury of the video and photo competition “Europe - My Choice” announced by the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, decided on a first prize winner among the contributions received.
The contribution of Jakob Wöllenstein with the title “Does the EU Strip Us of Our Sovereignty?” won in the “video” category and is thus the overall winner. The clip explains why the countries of Europe, contrary to what is so often erroneously claimed, do not in fact lose their sovereignty due to EU integration. Quite the opposite: A genuine ability to act is only possible when European states join forces.
The jury chairperson, the Head of Team Political Dialogue and Analysis and the AG Europa, Dr Stefan Friedrich stated that: “The level of professionalism and persuasiveness with which the clip confronts one of the core questions of European unification, is impressive. The result is convincing. Jakob Wöllenstein as well as all other winners deserve our congratulations!”

On the occasion of the European Parliament elections, participants up to 29 years of age were called upon to communicate why they are in favour of Europe in a 100-second video, an image or a photo gallery. The contributions have been designed in an individual way and the ideas about what Europe means for each individual were no less varied. Together with the jury, the audience decided on the best work by voting on the KAS Youtube channel. The winners received valuable gifts including an iPad, iPad Air and iPad mini.
