German and American Perspectives on the Middle East

The ongoing reshuffle of the Middle East presents a challenge to Germany and Europe as well as to the United States. With the post-colonial order eroding and other regional and international actors gaining in influence, transatlantic cooperation, or at least understanding, in this region seems more important than ever. Against this background, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Middle East Institute are convening German and American experts to discuss the respective assessments, interests and foreign policy strategies concerning the protracted and difficult dynamics in the Middle East and North Africa.
