Compatibility of Islam and democracy has been a controversial subject of debate around the world for many years. The discussions often arrive at conclusions and answers that have little to do with the realities in Muslim societies. The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung decided to conduct the project entitled “Muslims in State and Society worldwide. Social Commitment and Political Participation” this year. The crucial insights from the workshops are combined in this publication.
