From October 18 to 21, KAS and the CEDI Center hosted the Autumn School 2024 in Pogradec, which focused on Russia's influence on maintaining balance within the European Union and the challenges of Western Balkan integration.
Over the course of four days of lectures, interactive exercises and EU simulations, we covered a range of topical topics, such as:
- The role of EU institutions and their responsibilities in the enlargement process
- The rise of Euroskepticism as a major challenge for the EU
- The new geopolitics of Europe after the Russia-Ukraine war
- Changes in the dynamics of state aid provided by the EU after the Ukraine-Russia war
- Media impact and public perception regarding the opening of negotiations
- AI in digital markets and the EU's regulatory framework
- Challenges and issues facing the EU's security policy
- Gender roles, Russian influence, and the role of the EU in the Western Balkans
