The Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung office in Albania, in cooperation with the Department of History at the University of Tirana, will organize an autumn school on the comparison of Soviet Stalinism and Albanian National Communism, from October 28 to November 2, 2024.
This event will bring together students, historians, and experts to discuss the leadership cult of Stalin, the creation of Soviet society, the Cold War and Albania, as well as the impact of these ideologies on the formation of the Albanian communist regime. In addition to lectures, participants will have the opportunity to visit important historical sites such as "BunkArt2" and the "House of Leaves." The program will conclude with a study trip to Elbasan, Kuçovë, and Berat, where participants will discuss sites of historical importance in Albania's industrial and military history.
