The Danish Municipal and Regional elections

Denmark’s municipal and regional landscape has changed. The municipal and regional elections on 15th November 2005 resulted in a reduction of 4607 municipal politicians to 2520, a reduction of 45%. The election was part of a major public structural reform commencing in June 2004 due to an agreement between the Danish government and the Danish People’s Party. The reform is expected to be completed on January 1st 2007.
