Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (Australia and the Pacific) is pleased to welcome Dr Wilhelm Hofmeister – Lecturer at the Institute of Social Sciences and Fellow of the Party Research Institute of the University of Duesseldorf to the region again this year.

Following the workshops he held for the governing parties of Fiji and Samoa last year, the 2025 workshops focus on “Democracy and Political Parties in the Pacific Region” and are targeted at the governing political parties of Fiji again.

In Samoa, the workshops are targeted at civil society at large and focus on “Democracy or Authoritarianism: The New Global Competition between Political Systems from a European Perspective”.

The objective of the workshops is to strengthen democracy in these countries, having regard to the respective country’s unique circumstances.
