On November 25, 2021 the launch of the book “2021 – Thirty Years Since the Renewal of Latvia’s and Germany’s Diplomatic Relations” will take place. The event is organised by Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office for the Baltic States in cooperation with the The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany. The event is by invitation only.
The book “2021 – Thirty Years Since the Renewal of Latvia’s and Germany’s Diplomatic Relations” is a collection of seven essays written by our scholars concerning the relations between Latvia and Germany. The volume includes separate chapters on diverse topics such as Latvian literature in the German language, The Munster Latvian Gymnasium and German Organizational Support for Church Communities in Latvia.
This year Latvia and Germany are not only celebrating the 30th anniversary of the renewal of diplomatic relations but also the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. In honour of this anniversary, scholarship holders from the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung office in Latvia, Kristaps Celmiņš, Jurģis Kalniņš, Gints Kapteinis, Lora Egle, Nils Mosejonoks, Signe Viška and Aleksandrs Mironovs are presenting the insights of the historical and cultural ties which have been connecting Germany and Latvia over the centuries.
The event will take place on November 24 at the German Ambassador's Residence at Hamburgas street 9 in Rīga. Please note that the event is accessible only to individuals with a valid EU Covid-19 vaccination or recovery certificate. Face masks and social distancing measures are mandatory during the event.
