Details

Will the strengthened trade partnership between the EU and Japan create a new momentum for the two countries to match their economic clout with political power and leadership at the global level? What should the two economic powerhouses do together to support multilateralism and revive the ideas of democracy, an open market economy and rules based trade? On September 05, 2018, the European Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Federation of German Industries (BDI) are organising a high-level workshop on these questions. The event will see contributions from Ambassador Kazuo Kodama (Ambassador of Japan to the European Union), Helena König (Deputy Director-General, DG Trade, European Commission) and Erik Famaey (Senior Associate, European Institute for Asian Studies).
