While new competitors are entering the traditional banking business, banks engage more and more in new areas such as sustainable finance. Which economic role will banks play in the future and what will be their standing within society as a whole? On April 23, 2018, the European Office of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and the Association of German Banks are organising a panel discussion on the development of the banking sector. Gunnar Hökmark (Member of the European Parliament), Paulina Dejmek-Hack (Member of the Cabinet of Jean-Claude Juncker), Matthias Schäfer (Head of Team Financial Policy and Labour Market Policy, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung), Ulrich Coenen (Managing Director, Commerzbank)are going to speak.
