Details

The reform agenda of the 3rd Plenum of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party from November 2013includes further liberalization steps of the capital markets. The balance between future regulations of the domestic banking sector and an easier market access for foreign investors will be a crucial point. As a consequence of crises in the global capital markets and the debt crisis in many EURO-member states, regulations of finance markets have become a tendency worldwide. What will be fiscal key areas of the next economic reforms in China? Which regulation principles are currently discussed in Europe in regard to a sustainable and stable order of markets? From what experiences of the discussion in Europe can the Chinese reforms benefit?

Scientists and practitioners from China and Germany address these issues from a juridical and economic perspective.

The symposium is part of a multi-annual cooperation of KAS with the German-Sino Institute of Legal Studies on reforms of China's economic system.
