Climate change is a global reality which represents challenges in all scale. In this context, cities play a crucial role by concentrating more than half of the world's population, consume most of the energy and be vulnerable to climate change. Therefore, during the COP21 highlighted the participation of more than 400 mayors, which pledged to reduce their GHG emissions by 2030. While the trend is that more cities will commit and set objectives, it is neccesary a diagnosis and recognition of them to know what actions to take individually and together to provide adequate sustainable solutions for the benefit of the quality of life of citizens.
Following the path of events of cities and climate change in the countries of the Pacific Alliance, the Regional Programme Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America (EKLA) of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS), with the platform CDP Cities Latin America and the Center for Development Studies (CED), qith the support of Adapt Chile, organize the "International Forum: Chilean Cities tackle Climate Change", in order to create a space for discussion and exchange of experiences that contribute to decision-makers in cities.
