The Brazilian Student Encounter of International Relations (ENERI) is configured as a mighty event within the International Relations Department, and is organized by students at the undergraduate level. It is the largest student event for International Relations in Latin America in amount of participants. The event aims at providing a scientific-academic exchange and is co-organized by the National Association of International Relation Students (FENERI).
The 2017 ENERI will be held from April 26th to the 29th in Goiânia, Goiás, Brazil. Its Organizing Committee aims to nurture reflections through the exchange of scientific knowledge, to promote academic research and to build critical insights about the socioeconomic and political national reality. This edition will discuss the political and economic context of Brazil in 2016 and its effects on the regional and international realm. The guiding question is how the unfolding of domestic politics influences the Brazilian international projection? Therefore, the theme "Brazilian Foreign Policy in Crisis: (pre)visions of an uncertain future" offers an analysis of the effervescent domestic situation and its consequences, with the contributions of important decision makers and the academia, meeting the demand for a scientific analysis.
ENERI Goiânia will be composed of panels, symposiums and group discussions. The Regional Programme Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (EKLA-KAS) supports this event, specially the Panel on "Contexts and challenges for security and energy efficiency in Latin America" to be held on April 29th. This panel is dedicated to issue-areas such as climate change, protection of the rights of indigenous populations, environmental sustainability in the management of risks and catastrophes and responsibilities for nuclear damage. The confirmed speakers are:
