Sustainability Challenges and Opportunities for Mexican Cities

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation, through its Regional Program Energy Security and Climate Change supports the event organized by CDP Cities Latin America on Sustainability Challenges and Opportunities for Mexican Cities.

Around 25 Mexican cities will gather at the Museum of Mexico City, on 26 February to discuss the issue of sustainability in a workshop held by CDP with the support of the KAS.

At this occasion, a case study on Opportunities for Mitigation of Greenhouse Gas Emissions in sustainable cities will be presented and there will be a panel dedicated to GHG inventories.

Carlos Alberto Vieira Muniz, Secretary of Environment of Rio de Janeiro and Nelson Franco, Climate Change Manager were invited by the KAS to present the experience of this city and the CB27, an integrated platform of the 27 Brazilian state capitals dedicated to the exchange of good practice.

Representatives of the public and private sectors will also discuss the Economic Opportunities and Political Incentives for a sustainable economy.
