Latin American journalists are invited to participate in the Second Edition of Interviews Climate Program. This program will take place between June and October 2016 through virtual sessions between journalists and renowned experts from the region, at a rate of one session per month.
The initiative aims to promote contact, exchange and transfer of knowledge between experts from the region and Latin American journalists; create a space for reflection on options to address the challenges posed by climate change; strengthen the capacities of journalists in the region in the coverage of the science of climate change and its impacts; and provide input to journalists so that they can address the issue from different perspectives of interest to their readers and encourage writing on the subject.
The 2016 edition has the support of the Regional Program Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America (EKLA) of the Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS). EKLA functions as a platform for dialogue in order to give impetus to processes of political decision making.
Receipt of applications will be open until Wednesday June 8 at midnight and are invited to participate to journalists working in print and digital media, radio and television in Latin America and the Caribbean. The program has a limited capacity and journalists from politics and economics are encouraged to apply. The journalists who attend most sessions will receive a certificate of participation.
