First discussion held together with the SPDA that included presentations by María Eugenia Rinaudo, EAN University, Colombia and Eugenia Arguedas MINAE-CBD, Costa Rica and a subsequent debate for the exchange of ideas among the participants.

We can conclude that nature-based solutions (NBS) must be understood as one more tool, important but not static or definitive, in the face of the challenges posed by the climate crisis. They are based on 6 interconnected pillars of symbiotic influence: Nature-Life-Biology-Technology-Innovation and Design. However, for these columns to be able to sustain these “solutions” it is necessary for nature to be in a position to provide them, and here the concepts of conservation, restoration and regeneration are essential requirements.

The SBN must be understood and nurtured from the same territory, adapting it to the environmental, social and economic conditions so that they can be implemented and integrated both in the natural environment and in the mentality of the users: internalize scientific and ancestral knowledge with criteria ethics that put solidarity and justice as guides and life at the center of everything, moving from anthropocentric to biocentric approaches, as corresponds to us in the tangled tree of life. Finally, it is necessary to promote radical, bio-inspired and disruptive innovations that help us see the links between technology and nature, as well as the impacts of interventions to "specialize" SBNs in each territory.
