Christian Hübner, Direktor des Regionalprogramms Energiesicherheit und Klimawandel in Lateinamerika, Jorge Ocejo, Präsident der Organización Demócrata Cristiana de América (ODCA) und Dr. Kristin Wesemann, Direktorin des Büros der Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Montevideo.

During a keynote presentation, Dr. Christian Hübner presented the work of the new Regional Programme Energy Security and Climate Change in Latin America based in Lima, Peru and spoke about the current situation of the energy transition in Germany. Subsequently, Guillermo Bustamante Ruisánchez, Director General of Legal Affairs of the Energy Regulatory Commission(CRE,for its acronym in Spanish), gave a lecture on the situation of the energy policy in Mexico.

With the previous presentations on the German and Mexican energy policy, it started a debate focused on the Christian Democrat integration to the energy and climate issues in Latin America. The attention focused on the various political party conditions in Latin America so as on the minimal political relevance of these issues for the parties.
