The Reporter Slam 2024 culminated in an inspiring evening in Berlin, where six talented journalists from Germany, Malta, and Nigeria showcased their storytelling prowess. Among them was Melony Ishola from Lagos, who represented Africa with passion and creativity.
Performing before an audience of over 400 guests, each person presented their compelling journalistic stories, demonstrating the vital role of media in today’s world, where trust in journalism faces increasing challenges. We extend our warm congratulations to the overall winner, Cornelius Pollmer from “Die Zeit”, a renowned German weekly newspaper, and commend all participants for their remarkable contributions.
During Melony’s stay in Berlin, she also had the opportunity to visit our colleagues at the KAS headquarters, where she got to hear more about the work of the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung worldwide. Here she also engaged in discussions around current key developments in Nigeria and Germany, and the global media landscape. Amid the busy schedule, Melony also got to explore some of Berlins rich cultural and historic sites, embracing the charm of the city despite the chilly Berlin winter.
Our gratitude goes to Jochen Markett, the Reporter Slam event's moderator and organizer, for curating such an inspiring platform. We are proud to support initiatives like Reporter Slam, which celebrate journalistic excellence and foster global connections.
