Young people from the Republic of North Macedonia actively participate in the electoral process in the country, the latest statistics show that every second young person regularly votes in elections (53%), and in the last parliamentary elections in 2020, a high 74.7% voted. However, on the other hand more than half of young people (56%) rarely or never follow them and are not interested in political events and happenings in the country. This means that a large number of young people are uninformed when involved in the election process, which indicates low political awareness and education among young people.
To improve this situation, i.e. increase political education among young people, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and the Association of Leaders for Education, Activism and Development (LEAD) created the first online board game for political education "Electology". The game allows you to "get in the shoes" of the leader of an imaginary political party and participate in the parliamentary elections in our country. The primary target group for which the game is intended are young voters or young people who have yet to get the right to vote, but the game is available to all others interested.
By creating a user profile for playing on www.izborologija.mk and playing the game together with other users, players have the opportunity to get acquainted with the political system in our country, to understand how parliamentary democracy works, how parliamentary elections are conducted in our country and how the political parties participate in the parliamentary elections.
