South East Europe Government Communication Conference (SEECOM)

The Media Program South East Europe of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) will host the annual SEECOM conference for government spokespersons with focus on "Public Dialogue in Europe: Reconnecting the EU with its citizens and neighbourhood".

Details

Co-host is SEECOM, the first European professional association for public sector communicators. The European Commission (Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations DG) is a partner of the event.

It will be opened by Gerhard Wahlers, Deputy Secretary General of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung. Keynote speaker is David McAllister, Chairman of the European Parliament Foreign Affairs Committee.

Members of the governments of several Balkan states, including Serbia and Montenegro, will discuss the future of the Berlin Process, a German initiative on EU enlargement. Other topics include a better citizens' dialogue on European issues, strategic communication and dealing with disinformation as well as new communication strategies for government authorities.

The morning session is open to the public. Media representatives and interested citizens are invited to report and to ask questions.

The conference will be attended by politicians as well as PR specialists from state authorities from more than 15 countries.
