The KAS Athensis organising the second part of the series"Women in Power"under the title "Equal opportunities at work" on Wednesday, the 26th of June 2019 at 17h30 at the Panorama Hall of theRoyal Olympic Hotel, Athanasiou Diakou 28-34, Athens.
In Greece , there is often injustice for women when it comes to looking for a job, being paid, but also in general when it comes to equal opportunities with men . The newest data show that almost 65% of the unemployed are women. This percentage is significantly higher in Greece than for example in Spain, Portugal or Italy.
As in other countries, the (non-) compatibility of family and work and the social roles of the sexes play an important role. What are the areas of possible intervention in order to strengthen the role of women in the workplace in Greece? What experiences have other countries and especially Germany made with funding programs, quotas and political impulses? How did the economic crisis influence the opportunities of women at work?
