The roundtable discussion about “Emerging International Strategic Dynamics: Indian and EU Perspectives” was organized together with the Indian partner Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), one of the leading Indian security policy Think-Tanks.
The roundtable discussion was devided into two sessions: During the first session, Dr. Arvind Gupta, Director General of IDSA, talked about „The Current Challenges for India's Security and Foreign Policy“; Prof. Dr. Carlo Masala, Professor, University of the German Armed Forces, Munich, elaborated on the topic from a European perspective; Dr. Bharat Wariavwalla, former Senior Research Associate at IDSA, focused on „ The Current Instability in the Eurozone and its Likely Consequences for the Global Political Economy “ and Dr. Rajiv Nayan, Senior Research Associate at IDSA worked on „ Nuclear Security: An Indian Perspective “.
In the second session, Colonel (GS) Rainer Meyer zum Felde, Vice President, Federal College for Security Studies, Berlin, talked about „The Current Challenges for the NATO-Russia Relations“. Prof. Gulshan Sachdeva, Center for European Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University in New Delhi gave a lecture on „ Expanding India-EU partnership “. Dr. Ashok Behuria, Research Fellow at IDSA elaborated on „Emerging Security Environment in South Asia“ and Dr. Christian Wagner, Head of the Asia Research Division, German Institute for International and Security Affairs, Berlin, discussed the results of the different presentations afterwards.
