During the three days of the conference, the participants debated Youth Power, the future Scenario in which Youth has to perform in both politics and industry, Inclusive Growth and a roadmap for making inclusive growth a reality.
Guest of honor Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Punjab’s Finance Minister, explained in his speech how important it is to put the focus on India’s youth, which appears to be like a double-edged sword. On the one hand, the youth has a tremendous impact on the job market with over one million young job seekers entering the job market every month. They provide and afford new ideas and innovations, progress and modernity to the Indian sub-continent. On the other hand, without proper political investments to education, career training, gender equality and the missing appreciation by the government, companies and the society, the future for the youth in India is at stake. High unemployment rates and poverty could be a worst-case scenario.
The JSDP partner network is an annual conference of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and its long-lasting partner organizations from the grass root level and covers topics of current general interest.
