Event reports
After the opening welcome remarks by Prof. S. D. Muni, Dr. Christian Wagner made his presentation, which focussed on establishment of a Security Architecture in South Asia as well as empirical part of bilateral and multilateral relationships and different prospects related to it. Additionally he also spoke as to how security architecture helps to put different forms of security cooperation, which have developed between South Asian countries, in a larger theoretical framework. Furthermore, India and the neighboring countries have also signed various extradition treaties and mutual legal assistance treaties. These developments in the political, security, and legal fields can be regarded as contours of regional security architecture.
Subsequently Amb. Jayant Prasad shared his views on Security Architecture in South Asia, that necessity of building blocks for cooperation for developing countries in Asia, which could help in eliminating in disproportionality among them and encouraging bilateral and multilateral cooperation. The discussion was followed by questions and critiques by participants, among which Prof. Ashok Behuria and Prof. S. D. Muni made their own reproach and suggestions to enrich further this soon-to-be-a-research paper by Dr. Christian Wagner.
