To ensure that the fate of the Israeli hostages held by Hamas in Gaza remains a priority in Germany’s public discourse and among decision-makers, the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and NAFFO - Nahost Friedensforum e. V. brought freed hostages with German citizenship, like Ohad and Raz Ben Ami, along with relatives of Israeli-German hostages still in captivity, to Germany.
In the context of the newly constituted Bundestag, they met with Members of Parliament and Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. In the evening, the State Representation of North Rhine-Westphalia in Berlin, together with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung Israel 🎗and NAFFO - Nahost Friedensforum e. V. hosted an event where Sylvia Löhrmann, North Rhine-Westphalia’s Commissioner for Combating Antisemitism, for Jewish Life, and for Remembrance Culture, opened the discussion.
The Ben Ami couple, along with the relatives of Alon Ohel and the twins Gali and Ziv Berman, made an urgent plea: “Bring them home now!” Their emotional appeal to do everything possible to free the remaining 59 Israeli hostages will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression on those present.
Many thanks to Mirjam Rosenstein, Aras-Nathan Keul, Anja Pfeffermann and many others for this important event and cooperation.
