As in the North Forum, 85 female and male University students and active youth participated in defining the ideal candidate in municipalities and parliamentary elections, defining their tasks, and characteristics (e.g. any representative worth their vote should have shown his/her commitment to developing their communities through voluntary engagement!). They democratically voting on priorities for their own Jordan Youth agenda for the 4 Southern governorates. Living in a more traditional society young Jordanians showed that they have innovative ideas for advocacy to be heard as citizens, voters & candidates in the upcoming Municipality & Parliamentary Elections.
The first two of a series of 4 youth forums has created media’s attention to the fact that youth votes will be decisive in the upcoming elections.
