In fact, LDK (the Democratic League of Kosovo) is the only party that is a member of the EPP (European People’s Parties), and the other four parties discussed are at the early stages of the application for entrance in such organizations. This low participation and integration are caused by vagueness regarding the ideological orientation of Kosovo’s political parties. And this vagueness can, in turn, be explained by a number of historical factors that were specific for Kosovo’s development. These specific factors, which were decisive for the emergence and the development of Kosovo’s political parties, make Kosovo’s experience distinctive from experiences of other countries that came out from the former Communist bloc.
