On 25-26 September 2024, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) Malaysia and the Institut Pemikiran Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad at Universiti Utara Malaysia successfully completed the AccelerateHER 1.2 Leadership Lab in Perak, which was a follow-up to our impactful May event in Kedah.
This session that focused on strengthening communications between women in politics and their party leadership as well as their voter base once again brought together 24 incredible women in politics from Kedah, Perak, and Perlis, including party leaders and ADUNs from across the political spectrum.
The lab featured three transformative sessions:
- Campaigning via Social Media: Building Your Brand Image with Mr. Zain Amri, The Brand Mentalist.
- Persuasive Communication in Public Speaking: Tips & Tricks by Associate Professor Dr. Azlina Kamaruddin, UUM.
- Combatting Hate Online by Professor Dr. Mohd. Azizuddin Mohd. Sani, UUM.
The energy and commitment brought to the session were inspiring, as these brilliant women continue working to enhance their leadership capacities and advocate for increased women’s representation in Malaysia's political sphere. The bonds formed in Kedah were further strengthened in Ipoh, proving the power of sustained collaboration.
