Details
On 25 October 2024, our pilot session of the "Why Should I Care?" series brought together a room full of passionate, engaged minds—including KAS Malaysia Scholars and other brilliant young participants—for insightful discussions on hashtag#FREEDOM. Together, we explored its complexities, its limits, and how to protect rights without crossing boundaries.
A big thank you to Christian Echle, our Head of Department Asia/Pacific at Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung, for traveling all the way from Berlin in time to be with us! Your presence added immense value and added perspective to the conversation. 🌍
Our gratitude also goes to Lim Jih-Ming from the Centre for Independent Journalism for leading an engaging and thought-provoking session on freedom of expression! The overlap between freedom of expression and freedom of movement is particularly timely and relevant here in Malaysia! 📣
A heartfelt thanks to our KAS Malaysia Director Miriam Fischer for sharing a personal story so close to her heart about the freedom of movement, reminding us of the human side of this fundamental right.🚶♀️
Finally, to everyone who joined us, shared your thoughts, and contributed to this unforgettable session—thank you! This event truly shows that when we come together to exchange perspectives, we grow stronger and wiser as a community.
💥 Stay tuned for our next session in the "Why Should I Care?" series!
