Radio Days Africa 2019

Presented by the WITS Radio Academy, the 10th edition of Radio Day Africa will see around 300 radio managers, owners, practitioners and enthusiasts gather in Johannesburg for this two and a half day conference. The agenda covers all tiers of radio - public, online, community and commercial - and preliminary topics include production skills, creating radio dramas, online radio trends and master classes in story-telling.

Presented by the Wits Radio Academy under the auspices of the Department of Journalism at the University of the Witwatersrand, Radio Days Africa has become a much anticipated event in the radio industry. The 2019 edition will be hosted from the 3rd to 5th July, at the Wits Club, and take place over two and a half days.

The line-up of speakers caters to a diverse range of radio managers, owners, practitioners, enthusiasts as well as those who work in support services within the industry. All tiers of radio are serviced by the agenda from public, online, community and commercial. Those who have an interest in technology also enjoy a substantial programme offering.

Radio Days Africa expects to attract 300 delegates from around the world. South Africa sees the largest contingent with delegates also attending from Nigeria, Ghana, Mauritius, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Kenya as well as the United States, Europe and the United Kingdom.

The 2019 agenda will feature roughly sixty speakers who cover a variety of disciplines. International speakers are chosen based on trends and topical relevance as well as the potential value add to Radio Days Africa. Speakers from the continent reflect the industries in their countries as well as issues and success stories from the field.
