Whom does one want to reach as a young politician? The young? Male? Female? Urban? Rural? All political communication and planning for a political party has to start with such an assessment.
Therefore thirteen young politicians and youth leaders from eight anglophone countries in West, East and Southern Africa met in Addis Ababa, capital of Ethiopia to discuss issues of party management and voters sensitisation. Under the guidance of Heather Thuynsma and François Gilles de Pelichy of the University of Pretoria, the young politicians discussed, for three days, the ways in which public opinion is being shaped and how one should develop a public message that goes down well with potential voters.
