Under its new head, the media program will continue the training and promotion of journalists and political communicators in the region. One result of this work is the Southern Africa Media Law Handbook, which was also presented at AMLF. The author Justine Limpitlaw, a South African media law expert, pointed out that the media legislation in many countries of the region in part still comes from the colonial era. She urged the audience on to a discussion about the reform of the existing media laws and received a lot of encouragement.
