In 2020, Splice Beta Online was held as a month long digital festival celebrating media start-ups in Asia. Participants were able to hear first-hand, the successful approaches and strategies that media start-ups have made to rewrite the narrative of media as a dying industry. The festival ultimately aims to support reporting, teaching, advising, transforming and connecting funders with media start-ups through an ecosystem-based approach.

The month long conference has been broken down into 5 main themes:

• Strategy, Business and Funding
• Product, Formats and Prototyping
• Audience, Community, User, Customer
• Management, Operations, Workflows
• Media Careers.
