Details
This event aims to explore the history and the importance of narratives in general and particularly in South East Europe. Narratives are important for each and every community, be they ethnic, religious or national. However, in the past few years and with the growing influence of social media platforms we are witnessing a trend of fast and often dangerous narratives spreading. Populist movements and parties, sometimes even governments are creating false narratives. These are increasingly difficult to be contained given the lack of cooperation by big tech networks. Understanding how narratives shape public opinion can help address fragmentation in society as well as disinformation.
