During April 13-14, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, in partnership with Centropa, the Museum of Jewish History and Ecovisio organized an intensive training seminar for 20 teachers from Moldova. This event took place in Chisinau and is part of the EU-funded project, HerStories (https://www.her-stories.eu/de), dedicated to the documentation and education of Jewish history, in particular, the biographies of Jewish women from Moldova.
With the support of our local partners and under the coordination of the expert Irina Şihova, the participants benefited from historical lectures, practical and interactive workshops, as well as trips to places of Jewish memory, all designed to enrich and inspire teachers in the process of teaching history.
Centropa, our trusted partner in this project, is recognized for its efforts to document and reproduce Jewish life and history in Central and Eastern Europe. In partnership with Centropa, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation has carried out several projects with a major impact on historical education and awareness in the region. These projects have made significant contributions to promoting intercultural understanding and developing a more comprehensive perspective on European history and identity.
For us at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, democracy means understanding and assimilating the lessons of history. The culture of memory is a crucial pillar of our activities, helping us to build a more informed and responsible society.
