A Zonal Workshop on Promoting Interagency Collaboration and Conflict Resolution Among Security Agencies in the South-South Zone of Nigeria

Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in collaboration with Nigeria’s House of Representatives’ Committee on Army, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is organizing a four-day training workshop on promoting interagency collaboration and conflict resolution for middle-level officers of security agencies in the South -South zone of Nigeria. Participants are expected from the Nigeria Correctional Services, Department of State Services, Federal Road Safety Corps, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Nigeria Immigration Services, Nigeria Military, Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps from the three pilot states, Bayelsa, Delta and Rivers states.

Details

The key objective of the training workshop is to build the capacity of the officers on best practices for fostering interagency collaboration, intelligence gathering, dissemination and conflict resolution strategies. This is with the view of enhancing operational effectiveness, adherence to standard procedures, effective leadership and better coordination and cooperation among security agencies in Nigeria. The workshop also aims to promote trust and confidence-building among personnel of security agencies. The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
