The Nigerian government has finished the process of developing a new long term National Development Plan across all sectors andstarting the process of implementation. This process demands higher competence on the side of all stakeholders, who include the Special Advisers and Technical Assistants to Ministers. It is therefore necessary to build the capacity of ministerial advisors and technical assistants who will champion the process by entrenching in them the requisite skills and knowledge for optimum performance in the delivery of good governance across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies of the government. Among topics to be covered at this workshop is Critical Features and Implementation Strategies for the Nigerian National Development Plan; Leadership and Good Governance: Drawing the Nexus; Monitoring and Evaluation of Programmes and Projects; Values of Ideal Political Communication in the Success of Nigeria's Democracy: Exploring the uncharted Territory; Gender Equality and Women Empowerment: A Tool for Sustainable National Development; Tactics and Strategies for Enhancing Strategic Communication in the Internal, and External Spaces; Conflict Resolution Strategies in the Work Place; Institutional arrangements for effective project management and implementation for maximum impact. The workshop is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support towards sustaining democracy, governance, and Security Sector Reform in Nigeria.
