Workshop
Details
Being the second in the series of seminars for security agencies and civilian citizens in the North-East zone in 2019, KAS has continued to build on progress made from its peace-building engagements in the zone to foster synergy among stakeholders in the security management chain in order to create harmonious partnerships to stem the tide of terrorism, insurgency, armed banditry, kidnapping, and violent extremism prevalent in the North-East.With the porosity of borders across states and the evident relational gap among stakeholders in the security management chain, it has remained imperative to expand platforms for dialogue on strategies for enhancing cooperation, collaboration and coordination among stakeholders in the three states of Bauchi, Gombe and Yobe, to reduce interagency rivalry among security agencies, and conflict between security agencies and civilian citizens.
This seminar would evaluate the progress made since the previous engagements, analyze current challenges, and deepen the modalities for interventions towards achieving sustainable trust, cooperation and information sharing among security agencies on the one hand, and between security agencies and civilian citizens on the other
The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
