Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in cooperation with Nigeria’s House of Representatives’ Committee on Army is organizing a dialogue seminar for heads of security agencies and leaders of civil society groups in the North-East geo-political zone to promote collaboration among security agencies and cooperation between security agencies and civilian citizens.
This seminar is a follow-up to previous seminars organized for stakeholders in the region, and would focus on evaluating progress made on interventions towards deepening the collaboration among the various state and non-state actors in the security management chain. It would also deepen engagements in efforts to build a common front to tackle the rising cases of terrorism, banditry. Kidnapping, religious extremism, armed robbery, drug abuse and other forms of organized crime ravaging the North-East zone. Participants would appraise the gains made from earlier sessions and review lessons learned in order to work out appropriate measures for enhancing sustainable success in entrenching cooperation, collaboration and coordination between personnel of security agencies and civilian citizens. The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
