Seminar
Details
This seminar seeks to build on outcomes from previous seminars organized by KAS for these decision makers, and to expand the platform to assess progress made so far and discuss areas of further assistance to strengthen Nigeria’s security sector, promote interagency cooperation, build the capacity of security personnel, facilitate institutional support, and enhance good relationship between security agencies and civilian citizens. One of the objectives of this seminar is to enhance sustainable dialogue and cooperation among leaders and senior officers of security agencies, and also with members of House of Representatives Committees on the various security agencies towards addressing security threats, while identifying pressing capacity needs and appropriate measures to enhance effectiveness. Similarly, it would enable an enhanced understanding of the fundamentals of effective security management, principles of interagency cooperation, conflict management, leadership, ethics, rule of law, interpersonal relationships, and essence of information sharing to build trust and confidence among themselves and with civilian citizens. The seminar would be facilitated by seasoned Nigerian and international experts in Peace, Conflict and Security Studies.
The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the security sector reform in Nigeria by ensuring that heads of security agencies engage in constant productive dialogue to deliver sustainable impacts in interagency cooperation. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
