Seminar
Details
The seminar aims at bringing together decision makers and heads of colleges as well as senior trainers from the various security training colleges in Nigeria including the Defence College, Defence Academy, plus training colleges of the Nigerian Army, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the DSS (Secret Service) among others.
The major objective of the seminar is to review, enrich and harmonize the curricula and teaching methodologies of the security training colleges to enhance adherence to democratic principles by introducing additional standard modules on democracy, rule of law, human rights, interagency cooperation and relationship with civilian citizens.
The seminar would be facilitated by seasoned experts in security studies, peace building, and institutional strengthening. Through this seminar, Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung would create enhanced platforms for enriching the traditional modules of the colleges to enable trainers and decision makers to impart knowledge that will impact on positive attitudes and character of the personnel of security agencies who pass through the colleges.
The seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria by ensuring that training institutions are empowered to deliver sustainable impacts. This program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
