Seminar on Promoting Cooperation Between Personnel of Security Agencies and Civilian Citizens: For Heads of Agencies and Leaders of Civil Society at Zonal/State Levels (South-South Zone)
Support to the SSR
Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) in collaboration with Nigeria’s House of Representatives’ Committee on Army and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is organizing a seminar for heads of security agencies and leaders of civil society groups in the south-south zone to promote collaboration among security agencies and cooperation between security agencies and civilian citizens.
The seminar is a follow-up to a previous seminar organized for stakeholders in the three pilot states in the south-south. The seminar will focus on evaluating the progress made on interventions towards strengthening the collaboration among the various state and non-state actors in the security management chain. It also focuses on strengthening efforts towards building a coordinated front to tackle all forms of insecurity in Nigeria. Participants would appraise the gains made from earlier sessions and review lessons learned in order to work out appropriate measures for enhancing sustainable success in entrenching collaboration, cooperation, and coordination between personnel of security agencies and civilian citizens. This seminar is part of Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung’s support to the Security Sector Reform in Nigeria. The program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office of Germany.
