Among the 50 participants were high ranking officers from Police, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corp, Nigerian Immigration Service, Army, Nigerian Navy, Traditional Rulers, National Youth Council of Nigeria, National Council for Women Society, Federation of Muslim Women Association in Nigeria, National Union of Road Transport Workers, State Legislators, Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs, Christian Association of Nigeria, Ati-Annang, and Civil Society Organization who can play a vital role in security issues and Media.
Mr. Attah O. Bassey, Former Security and Intelligence Directorate for Social Mobilization Defunct Mass Mobilization for Social Justice, Self Reliance and Economic Recovery (MAMSER) was Chairman of the Workshop and gave an insight in the issues with his opening remarks. Prof. Etanibi Alemika, s leading security expert in Nigeria, facilitated the workshop.
All participants made free, fair and informative inputs and discussions worked towards having possible solutions to mitigate violence in the region. A communiqué committee was formed which issued a communiqué after it was adopted. The communiqué can be read at this webpage.
