Looking beyond official policy papers and government statements, what do people in Norway, the Faroe Islands, Greenland and Iceland think about their governments' foreign and security policy? What are their views and preferences following the invasion of Ukraine in February 2022? In this online session, we will be diving deeper into what drives people's foreign and security policy perceptions, what we might expect going forward, and what lessons we ought to learn from these insights.
Join us for a live online discussion in which we will be taking a closer look at foreign and security policy surveys conducted between 2023 and 2024 in the Faroe Islands, Iceland, Greenland, and Norway. We will be joined by the lead researchers Rasmus Leander Nielsen (Greenland), Maria Ackrén (Greenland), Silja Bára R. Ómarsdóttir (Iceland), Heini í Skorini (Faroe Islands) and Øyvind Svendsen (Norway) who will present their main findings. The brief survey presentations will be followed by some reflections offered by Christoph Humrich on the value and insights, both for academia and for policy makers, and how to incorporate the findings into policymaking.
