Entire Europe is facing the challenges arising from the huge influx of refugees from the crisis hotspots in Middle and Far East and Africa. Macedonia is one of the major transit countries on the Balkan route for refugees coming from Greece, who are trying to reach a safe haven in Germany or Sweden.
Neighboring Serbia faces same challenges as part of the refugees’ Balkan route, and since recently Croatia as well after Hungary closed its border. In the circumstances when small Balkan states are trying to solve this (global) problem, this security challenge arose in terms how to employ all national capacities in a way that is humane, rational and efficient in the same time.
The initiative will bring together experts and important stake holders from Macedonia, Croatia and Serbia who will discuss the main security challenges from the progressing influx of refugees in the region.
