The Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) and the Faculty of Philosophy at the Ss, Cyril and Methodius University - Skopje are organising a panel discussion titled as “Euro-Atlantic Security Dynamics: Challenges for NATO, Europe, and the Enlargement Process of the Western Balkans”.
The event will take place on 06th of March at the Big Amphitheatre of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade starting at 12:30 hour.
The event marks the opening ceremony of the so-called Regional School security 2025, an initiative which the KAS with support of our sister foundation from Brussel, the Wilfrid Martens Centre for European Studies (WMCES), and the Faculty of Philosophy-Skopje are traditionally implementing in the past years. It aims to foster exchange and friendship between the countries in the region bringing together students and young professionals, as well as academics and experts from the neighboring countries, North Macedonia, Bulgaria and Serbia, in order to discuss and exchange experience on topics which are of common interest, tackling mainly regional security challenges and regional cooperation.
The event will be hosted by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski who will give his welcoming remarks and a short introduction to the topic.
Official representatives of the organizing parties will also address the audience: the Official representative of Konrad Adenauer Foundation Office in Skopje Daniel Braun; representative from the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies Katerina Jakimovska; and the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje Prof. Oliver Bakreski.
Following speakers will give their contribution to the topic:
Prof. Vasko Naumovski, Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” – Skopje; Former Vice Prime minister for European Affairs; Former Ambassador of North Macedonia to the USA;
Dr. Ana Krstinovska, Head of the ESTIMA Think-Tank;
Prof. Nenad Markovic, Political studies, Faculty of Law “Iustinianus Primus” – Skopje.
The event will be moderated by Prof. Marjan Gjurovski from the Faculty of Philosophy at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje, who will also give his introduction to the topic.
Working languages of the event will be Macedonian and English. Simultaneous translation will be provided.
