CATHEDRA ADENAUER 2015

“Migration and the EU - What is happening in Europe?”

The Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, the “Iustinianus Primus” Faculty of Law and the “Max van der Stoel” Institute at the South East European University organized a series of lectures under the common title “Cathedra Adenauer 2015” throughout the year.

As a series of scientific conferences, two previous events of “Cathedra Adenauer 2015” linked the topics EU integration and current political challenges. The third lecture was organized as a weekend seminar and dealt with the topic “Migration and the EU - What is happening in Europe?”

Focusing on the one of the most pressing issues in Europe at the moment, the seminar covered the topic from an economic, political and geopolitical point of view. Furthermore, during the practical part of the seminar participants were able to research, exchange ideas, and present their points of view in four different working areas associated with the topic: Political risks associated with migrants/refugees in the country; Political risks associated with migrants/refugees in Europe;

The national legal framework on migration and asylum of the country; The International law legal framework on migration and asylum.

The weekend seminar was attended by more than 30 participants from different universities in the country.
