Exhibition
Details
This exhibition is the result of a close collaboration between the Global Ethics Foundation (GEF) in Tübingen (Germany), the Konrad- Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS) and the Malaysian Interfaith Network (MIN) over the past 4 years. It is based on a lifetime of research by the famous theologian Professor Hans Küng and the inputs of many other international experts and representatives from all religious backgrounds.
The exhibition invites visitors to explore the fascinating world of religions so that they can have a better understanding of the importance of their ethical messages in our present-day society. It also focuses on a set of principles and values that are common among all religions and ethical traditions. This highly educational exhibit would contribute in understanding the different religions and have the public realize that religion can be a source of peace and unity among peoples.
The exhibition has been shown at the 2nd ASEM Foreign Ministers Meeting in Hamburg, Germany and at the Singapore National Library earlier this year. Versions of the exhibit had earlier been on display at the Headquarters of the United Nations and the International Monetary Fund.
Accompanying the exhibition will be Mr. Peter Schier, who is an independent consultant in common values education, and interreligious and interethnic relations and conflict prevention. He has given numerous lectures and published several books and over 100 articles on China, Cambodia and Southeast Asia and has presented numerous papers at international conferences. Mr. Schier is a graduate of Peking University and of Free University of Berlin (M.A.). Mr. Schier is the former country representative of the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung in Malaysia.
