Despite the constant, global increase in female entrepreneurship, it can be observed that the share of female compared to male entrepreneurs in the Arab world stays far behind other countries. In order to foster the entrepreneurial activity of women in the region as well as their interaction across national borders, the KAS Regional Program Political Dialogue South Mediterranean organized a training entitled „Skills & Networking for Female Entrepreneurship“ in cooperation with TheNextWomenTunisie from 9 to 11 August 2017. Participants were women from Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria and Libya who have founded and worked on their own entrepreneurial projects in the food, services, IT/communication or handcraft industry for at least six months. During the three training days, the women were given the possibility to exchange – in group as well as in individual sessions – with female experts in finance, e-commerce, export and sales as well as in communication, human resources and management and to be individually advised by them. The training was also intended to foster the networking and exchange between the participants from the four countries and aimed to encourage and contribute to a future cooperation between these female entrepreneurs.
