Hauptziel des Projekts sind eine offene und interdisziplinäre Diskussion so wie die Popularisierung von fundiertem und aktuellem Wissen über Migrations-, Flüchtlings- und Integrationsfragen. Die inhaltliche Ausrichtung des Projekts umfasst die Thematik gegenwärtiger Migrationsprozesse in und nach Europa sowie sektorale Politiken auf nationaler und EU-Ebene in Bezug auf Einwanderung, Asyl und Integration. In Folgen der Krisen im Mittelmeerraum – Migrations-, Flüchtlings- und humanitäre Krise rückte die Migrationsproblematik in den Mittelpunkt der öffentlichen Debatte. Sowohl ihre Ursachen als auch ihre Auswirkungen sind mehrdimensional. Daher bedarf es eingehender Überlegungen in Verbindung mit einer verstärkten Bildungs-, Popularisierungs- und Forschungstätigkeit, deren Ziel es ist, insbesondere jungen Menschen, solides und nuanciertes Wissen zu vermitteln.
